What does the examiner look for?

One evaluator has blind spots. Every answer is read four times, from four sides, and the mark you get reconciles all four.

What is LaalPen?+
LaalPen (लाल पेन) is an answer-copy evaluation service for UPSC CSE and State PCS mains aspirants. You upload a scan of your handwritten answers; within minutes you get marks for every question, examiner-style remarks written on your own pages, a model answer and an answer-structure flowchart - in Hindi or English.
Which exams does it support?+
Any descriptive mains paper: UPSC CSE (GS I-IV, Essay, Ethics, Optionals) and State PCS exams such as BPSC, UPPSC, MPPSC, RAS (RPSC), CGPSC, UKPSC, HPSC and JPSC.
What exactly do I upload?+
A PDF of your handwritten answers (any phone scanner app works) and the questions with their marks. The model answer is optional.
How strict is the marking?+
Each answer is scored on four dimensions - content, structure, presentation and language - and calibrated to mains marking bands, so a solid answer lands around 70-85% and a fragmentary one under 45%. Think of a strict, consistent senior evaluator. It is practice feedback, not an official result.
Hindi medium?+
Yes - हिंदी माध्यम पूरी तरह समर्थित है। Write in Hindi or English; feedback comes in the language you wrote.
How long does it take?+
Usually two to five minutes per copy. If a page is hard to read, a human examiner checks it first.
How are credits used?+
Per page: 12 pages = 1 credit. A 6-page copy uses 0.5 credit; a full 120-page UPSC or State PCS booklet uses 10 - any size works. Credits never expire. The free trial covers 5 pages.
Is my copy private?+
Only you can see your copies and results. We never use them for anything except evaluating them for you.
